Association (YAIAA) Division I action:
As
the number 12 seed in the District 3 Class AAAA Playoff picture the Mustangs of
South Western (7-4 overall, 5-2 league) visited the number 5 seed
Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 Black Knights of Hempfield (9-3 overall, 5-2
league) in the first round and were edged 23-21 in a thriller that wasn’t
decided until a Black Knights’ interception with less than a minute left in the
game. The Black Knights advance to play
the number 4 seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 Blue Streaks of Manheim
Township (9-2 overall, 6-1 league) in the next round. The Black Knights gained 276yards rushing and
340yards passing for a total of 314 yards gained. Quarterback Sam Kramer completed 2 of 7
passes for the 40-yards, 1 for 38-yards to Riley Canouse and 1 for 2-yards to
Andrew Green, for the Black Nights. Will
Blair led the Black Knights rushing attack with 28 carries for 166-yards
(including a 43-yard touchdown), followed by Kramer with 17 carries for 96-yards
(including touchdowns of 6 and 27-yards), and Green with 5 carries for 14-yards. Chris Kosmela kicked a 38-yard field goal and
2 extra points, Jimmy Dizon intercepted a pass, Tyler Reber recovered a fumble,
Blair recorded a sack for a loss of 8-yards, and Tyler Callahan recorded a
sack, for the Black Knights.
The
Mustangs gained 122-yards rushing and 174-yards passing for a total of
296-yards of offense. Senior quarterback
Brock Geiman completed 10 of
18 passes for the 174-yards and 1 touchdown, 4 for 77-yards to Noah Staub, 4

passing yardage record. His34 career
touchdown passes also set a new school record.
Noah Staub has set a new school season pass reception yardage record
with 704-yards, a new school career pass reception yardage record with
1,387-yards, and a new school record for career pass receptions with 83. Robby Harbison led the Mustangs rushing
attack with 7 carries for 29-yards, followed by Geiman with 13 for 23-yards
(including a 1-yard touchdown), Miles Francis with 5 for 16-yards, Green with 4
for 14-yards, Fulmore with 3 for 14-yards (including a 2-yard touchdown), Nigel
Williams with 4 for 13-yards, DeLunche Shaw with 4 for 8-yards, and Zach Hughes
with 3 carries for 5-yards. Wes
Sneeringer kicked 3 extra points, Nate VanCampen intercepted a pass and
returned it 23-yards, Josh Zeroth recovered a fumble, and Byers recorded a sack
for a 2-yard loss and defended 2 passes, for the Mustangs.
As
the number 7 seed in the Class AAAA District 3 Playoffs, the Wildcats of
Dallastown (9-2 overall, 6-1 league) hosted the number 10 seed Mid-Penn
Commonwealth Division Panthers of Central Dauphin East (7-4 overall, 4-3
league) in the first round and were defeated 42-21. The Panthers advance to play the number 2
seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 Bulldogs of Wilson (10-1 overall, 7-0
league) in the next round. Shyheim Brown
lead the Eagles rushing attack with 267-yards (including touchdowns of 2, 68,
and 80-yards), followed by Jahad Neibauer with 39, Tyshaun Pollard with 28
(including a 21-yard touchdown), and Contrell Armor with 7-yards. Quarterback Neibauer completed 5 of 11 passes
for 93-yards, 3 for 86-yards to Aaron Arp, 1 for 6-yards to Pollard, and 1 for
1-yard to Terrance Danner, for the Eagles.
Darrion Livingston recovered a fumble and returned it 36-yards for a
touchdown, Neibauer intercepted a pass, Sean Orlando kicked 4 extra points, and
Nikolas Zervanos kicked 1 extra point, for the Eagles. Jake Jansen led the Wildcats rushing attack
with 81-yards (including touchdowns of 8 and 12-yards), followed by Michael
Sparks with 50 (including a 33-yard touchdown), Dillon Callahan with 38, Jack
Marks with 6, and Edgar Centeno with 10-yards.
Quarterback Sparks, filling in for the injured Cade Gold, completed 2 of

the number 11 seed in the Class AAAA District 3 Playoffs, the Lions of Red Lion
(7-4 overall, 5-2 league) visited the number 6 seed Mid-Penn Commonwealth
Division Eagles of Cumberland Valley (9-2 overall, 6-1 league) in the first
round and were defeated 48-21. The
eagles advance to play the number 3 seed Berks Inter County 1 Eagles of Exeter
Township (11-0 overall, 6-0 league) in the next round. Connor Long led the Eagles rushing attack
with 109-yards (including touchdowns of 58 and 9-yards), followed by Joey
Heikel with 91 (including a 3-yard touchdown), Cole Kline with 90 (including a
34-yard touchdown), Josh Ferguson with 35, Logan Thome with 30, Jake Palmer
with 23, Nicholas Rhodes with 17 (including an 11-yard touchdown), and Kier
Miner with 1-yard, and Jarrod Palmer with no yards. Quarterback Ferguson completed 1 of 3 passes
for 4-yards to Charlie Katshir for the Eagles.
Katshir had 2 interceptions, one of which he returned 33-yards for a
touchdown, Long returned an interception 20-yards for a touchdown and kicked 6
extra points, Dan Althouse recovered a fumble, and Mac Warren recorded a sack,
for the Eagles. Alex Keough led the
Lions rushing attack with 58-yards, followed by Patrick Daugherty with 44
(including a 22-yard touchdown), Dylan Gurreri with 36, Sam Emig with 16,
Rodney Scott with 14-yards (including a 5-yard touchdown), James Jackson with
minus 4-yards, and Dalton Grove with minus 14-yards (including a 2-yard touchdown). Quarterback Grove completed 7 of 14 passes

the number 2 seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoffs, the Bobcats of
Northeastern (9-2 overall, 5-2 league) hosted the number 15 seed
Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 Vikings of Northern Lebanon (8-3 overall,
6-0 league) in the first round and won 48-12.
The Bobcats advance to play the number 7 seed Mid-Penn Keystone Division
Indians of Susquehanna Township (8-3 overall, 5-1 league) in the next
round. Anu Johnson led the Bobcats
rushing attack with 240-yards (including touchdowns of 48 and 38-yards),
followed by Fred Mulbah with a 60-yard touchdown run, Chris Whack with 32
(including a 21-yard touchdown), Shannon Valenti, Jr. with 15-yards, David
Ankney and Taemar Willis with no yards each, and Wyatt Hughes with minus
10-yards. Quarterback Valenti, Jr.
completed 3 of 5 passes for 47-yards and 2 touchdowns, 2 for 41-yards to Ankney
(including touchdowns of 23 and 18-yards) and 1 for 6-yards to Dez Wigginton,
for the Bobcats. Willis returned a
kickoff 89-yards for a touchdown, Johnson ran in for a 2-point conversion, Cameron
Artman kicked 2 extra points, Fred Mulbah intercepted a pass and returned it

the number 14 seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoff picture the Rockets of
Spring Grove (5-6 overall, 4-3 league) visited the number 3 seed
Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Barons of Manheim Central (9-2 overall, 6-1
league) in the first round and were defeated 51-3. The Barons advance to play the number 6 seed
Mid-Penn Colonial Division Panthers of East Pennsboro (9-2 overall, 6-0 league)
in the next round. Damon Camacho led the
Barons rushing attack with 132-yards (including 4 touchdowns, for 2, 20, 9, and
3-yards), followed by Kody Kegarise with 110 (including touchdowns of 55 and
40-yards), Jay Barreto with 67, Trevor Hosler with 17, Dante Himmelright with
15-yards, and Alex Studenroth with no yards.
Quarterback Kegarise completed 6 of 8 passes for 97-yards, 3 for
48-yards to Jake Novak, 2 for 44-yards to Sam Martin, and 1 for 5-yards to

seed in the District 3 Class AA Playoff picture the Canners of Biglerville (8-3
overall, 6-1 league) visited the number 4 seed Nighthawks of Hanover (9-2
overall, 6-1 league) in the first round and won 30-7. The Canners advance to play the number 1 seed
Berks Inter County 2 Spartans of Wyomissing (11-0
overall, 6-0 league) in the next round.
Colton Sentz led the Canners rushing attack with 171-yards (including 4
touchdowns, for 1, 1, 14, and 5-yards), followed by Dayne Showers with 59,
Scott Cooper with 46, TJ Weaver with 25, and Ben Hurda with 5-yards. Quarterback Hurda completed 2 of 6 passes for
15-yards, 1 for 13-yards to cooper and 1 for 1-yards to Gage McAuliffe, for the
Caners. Sentz kicked a 27-yard field
goal and 3 extra points, as he accounted for all of the Canners points in the
game, and Cooper and Hurda each intercepted a pass, for the Canners. Justin Barnes led the Nighthawks rushing
attack with 73-yards (including a 1-yard touchdown), followed by Jordan
Laughman with 70, Kyle Krout with 16, Deandre Kerr with 14, Resean Williams with

the number 3 seed in the District 3 Class A Playoff picture, the Fighting Irish
of York Catholic will visit the number 2 seed Mid-Penn Capital Division
Steamrollers of Steelton-Highspire (4-5 overall, 3-3 league) on November 20 at
7PM in the first round, as Class A draws a bye this week.
Mid-Penn Conference action
As the number 8
seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoff picture the Mid-Penn Colonial
Division’s Polar Bears of Northern York (8-3 overall, 5-1 league) hosted the
number 9 seed York Adams Interscholastic Association (YAIAA) Division II
Trojans of York Suburban (8-3 overall, 6-0 league) in the first round and won
30-16. The Polar Bears advance to play
the number 1 seed Mid-Penn Keystone Division Crusaders of Bishop McDevitt (10-1
overall, 5-1 league) in the next round.
Bobby Shelly led the Polar Bears rushing attack with 133-yards
(including a 1-yard touchdown), followed by Curtis Robison with 106, Michael
Kearney with 23 (including a 1-yard touchdown), Jake Cromer with 8, and John
Kearney with 4-yards. Quarterback
Robison completed 6 of 7 passes for 81-yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 for 35-yards
and a touchdown to Jared Sutch, 1 for 32-yards and a touchdown to Joey Razzano,
2 for 7-yards to Shelly, 1 for 7-yards to John Kearney, and 1 for no yards to
Michael Kearney, for the Polar Bears.
Aidan Alves kicked a 25-yard field goal and 3 extra points, Owen
Blaschak recovered a fumble and recorded a half sack, A.J. Lodovici recovered a
fumble, Noah Smith recorded a sack, Caleb Walker recorded a half sack, Cromer,
Michael Kearney, and Razzano each defended a pass, and Gunnar Reninger and
Shelly each recorded a pass hurry, for the Polar Bears. Thomas Merkle has added to his school career
passing yardage record, as he closes his career with 5,611-yards. Merkle has set a new YAIAA career passing
yardage record with his 5,611-yards, surpassing the record of 4,894-yards set
by Matt Marshall from Spring Grove in 2006.
He has completed 186 of 287 passes for 2,613-yards and 26 touchdowns for
this season. For his career, he has
completed 378 of 643 passes for 5,611-yards and 45 touchdowns. Collin Mailman has set a new school career
pass reception record with 122. He has
66 receptions for 1,219-yards and 14 touchdowns for this season. Dajour Henderson led the Trojans rushing
attack with 85-yards, followed by Jaden Haynes with 8-yards, Ben Igo with minus
6-yards, and Thomas Merkle with minus 7-yards.
Quarterback Merkle completed 20 of 27 passes for 267-yards and 2
touchdowns, 12 for 164-yards to Colin Mailman (including a 94-yard touchdown),
2 for 57-yards to Teague Hoffman, 5 for 41-yards to Dustin Knaub (including a
15-yard touchdown), and 1 for 5-yards to Colin Deardorf, for the Trojans. Jonas Atkinson kicked a 21-yard field goal
and 1 extra point, and Mailman defended a pass, for the Trojans.
